ComfortCare Homes of Pittsburg
We would like to take you on a journey of how we came to be owner’s and operator’s of Comfort Care Homes of Pittsburg Kansas. This journey has driven us to do what we do with love and compassion for the elderly and their families that we serve.
Chris Windsor, after marring Alishia Lemieux in 2003, had a well-known business in the Pittsburg area called Windsor Excavating Company established in 2001, and remains the current owner and operator. In 2018, he also established the Windsor Cattle Company. He had no idea that Alishia’s drive to care and protect the elderly would come to be a part of him because of his love for her. So the journey begins to where we are today.
Alishia had a long-standing history of a family that has worked in the healthcare industry. She began her career as a dishwasher in a nursing home, which only sparked her level and concern for the elderly. She continued to work and climb the ladder of healthcare, by becoming a cook, then a certified nurse assistant, and finally a certified medication aide. However, the drive continued. Chris and Alishia went to tour the Comfort Care Homes of Wichita and they both instantly fell in love with the concept of providing this kind of service to the community. In 2011 Chris took the Operator’s Course and purchased Millie’s Place in Pittsburg. Soon after Alishia also took the Operator’s Course and they purchased Colleen’s Cottage in 2015. Think we would be done, have learned enough, no. They continue their education by becoming Certified Dementia Practitioners. For, Alishia the drive continues, She is currently enrolled in a Nursing Program.
Caring for the elderly has always been my calling and my passion, says Alishia. Chris and Alishia have both had family members who have suffered from Alzheimer’s and Dementia. Being able to provide a service in this community that specializes in this field has been a God sent and a blessing to us. Providing this service to our residents and their families is such a rewarding experience and it will always hold a very special place in our hearts and our family's hearts.
