Doing Dementia Differently
Approach to Care
From the start, Rob Patton shared the same vision—partnering with ComfortCare Homes to bring a truly residential model of care to Harvey County. It all started with a dream—a better long-term care option for those living with Alzheimer’s.

When my mother was diagnosed, I searched for alternative living arrangements in Illinois but found none. The need for specialized care became clear, and when I discovered Doug Stark’s ComfortCare Homes®, I knew I wanted to bring that same opportunity to those facing Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia in the Newton, Kansas area.

Compassionate Care
Our staff at ComfortCare Homes are trained with the newest methods of providing compassionate and understanding care to individuals living with dementia or Alzheimer’s. Every caregiver is required to complete thorough training to equip them with the tools to support our residents through every stage of dementia. We also provide ongoing education and training in dementia care for our staff.
Quality Nursing
As experts in dementia and Alzheimer’s care, we understand the importance of providing each resident with a personalized care plan that evolves to meet their changing social and medical needs. No two cases of dementia are alike, but our caregivers are committed to adaptability, compassion, and enhancing the well-being of every ComfortCare Homes resident.
Expert Dementia Care
When you’re in search of an alternative to large nursing homes or assisted living facilities, ComfortCare Homes is here for you. From decades of experience in long-term dementia care, you can rest assured your loved one is in good hands.
Meaningful Engagement
Staying engaged is vital for individuals with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Early on, mental stimulation may help slow memory loss, but as cognitive decline progresses, complex activities can cause stress. At ComfortCare Homes, we design personalized engagement programs that evolve with each resident’s needs. From gentle movement exercises to relaxing kitchen conversations, our full-time Director of Engagement ensures activities are enriching and enjoyable.
We tailor experiences based on personal history, incorporating familiar tasks like gardening or light housekeeping to foster purpose and confidence. Daily programs include movement exercises, creative arts, social outings, and live performances, all focused on creating moments of joy—where the process matters more than the outcome.
